This is a recipe from Janice that the Cameron’s used to make and gave to Janice. Janice and I made it together a few times and I made it with my kids once.
Ingredients
- 1/2 bushel of tomatoes
- 3 garlic buds
- 3 pounds onions
- 4 hot peppers (optional)
- 1 pint oil
- 6 – 12 ounce or 4 – 18 ounce cans tomato paste
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 tablespoons basil
- 1 tablespoons oregano
- 1/2 cup salt
Directions
- Cook tomatoes, garlic, onions and peppers until soft. Put through sieve. Add the oil and cook 1/2 hour then add the rest of the ingredients. Simmer until it is boiling hot and seal in jars or put in plastic containers. Can be used on pizza, spaghetti or sloppy joes.
