Rum Cake

A Huge Hit!



  • 1 box of yellow cake mix with pudding
  • 1 reg size instant vanilla pudding
  • 4 eggs
  • ½ cup oil
  • ¾ cup water
  • ¼ – ½ cup of rum (I use dark)
  • ¾ cup chopped pecans


  • 1 stick of butter
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • ½ cup of water
  • ½ cup of rum


  • Grease bundt pan, put nuts in the bottom, combine all other ingredients, pour in pan and bake at 350 for 45 min to 1 hour.  Remove from oven.  While cooling off a bit-boil all ingredients of mixture for 3 minutes and then pour over cake!  I usually poke a bunch of holes with a knife before pouring over-let sit for awhile until cool and then flip over onto serving plate!
