Chicken in wine sauce in a decadent rich dish .
Ingredients
- 4 large skinless boneless chicken breasts
- 6 ounces swiss cheese slices
- 1 can cream of chicken soup
- 1/4 cup white wine
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup herb flavored Pepperidge Farm stuffing mix, crushed
- 4 tablespoon butter, melted
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350. Place chicken in shallow buttered casserole dish. Layer cheese on top. Mix soup, wine, salt and pepper; pour over cheese. Sprinkle stuffing mix on top and drizzle with melted butter. Bake for 45-60 minutes.
Notes
- When using wine in cooking, remember to always use a wine that you would want to drink. The better flavor the wine, the better flavor the dish. It also leaves enough left over for a drink with your meal!

I made this tonight for dinner. Everyone loved it, INCLUDING MY Daughter! Really tasty! I used reduced fat cream of chicken soup and a box of stove top for a total of 520 calories!
Nancy, I actually mixed all the wet ingredients and put the stove top in that before I put it on top. (I make another dish where the stuffing gets too dry and crusty if its not wet first) It was less of a “wine” sauce but a tasty stuffing topping.
