A yummy addition to any meal submitted by Marlene Scott, otherwise lovingly known as Sarah Wissman’s second mom.

  • 1 package yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 1/2-2 3/4 cup flour
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg

  • Dissolve yeast in water; add sugar, oil salt and egg. Stir in 1 cup flour until smooth. Cover and place on rack over bowl of hot water; let rise 15 minutes. Grease square 9×9 inch pan. Add 1 ½ cups flour. Turn out on floured board and knead 3 minutes. Divide dough into 16 pieces and shape into balls. Cover and let rise 25 minutes. Heat oven to 425. Bake 12-15 minutes until light brown.

  • While still hot, you can brush the tops with butter.
