Mom Hick’s Chili

A great chili for those cold winter nights.

Ingredients

  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1-6 ounce can tomato paste
  • 1 pound can chopped tomatoes
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 2 cans kidney beans
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 clove garlic, pressed
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • Tabasco sauce to taste

Directions

  • Brown the ground beef, onions and pepper in a skillet. Drain fat. Incorporate tomatoes, and tomato paste. Transfer to a large pot. Add water, beans, garlic and spices. Mix well and simmer covered for about an hour. Add Tabasco to taste.
