Chinese Salad

Chinese Salad is a light summery salad that can be made any time.


  • 1 medium head Nappa (Chinese) cabbage
  • 1 bunch green onions, chopped
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 small package slivered almonds
  • 2 packages Oriental flavored Raman Noodles, crushed
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup oil
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce


  • Mix together Nappa cabbage and green onions, chill. Melt ½ stick butter in frying pan and toast next 3 ingredients until very brown. Boil the vinegar, sugar, oil and soy sauce for one minute, cool completely.


  • You may prepare all of this as much as a day or 2 ahead, however, keep all three parts separate. Do not mix together until right before serving.
