Sweet and Spicy Pecans

These are great served with the Baby Blue Salad
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 cup warn water
- 1 cup pecan halves
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1/8 teaspoon ground red pepper
Directions
- Stir together ¼ cup sugar and 1 cup warm water until sugar dissolves. Add pecan halves and soak 10 minutes. Drain, discarding sugar mixture. Combine 2 tablespoons sugar, chili powder, and red pepper. Add pecans, tossing to coat. Place on lightly greased baking sheet. Bake at 350 for 10 minutes or until pecans are golden brown, stirring once.

I made these to go with the Baby Blue Salad I served for a dinner party but I made lots extra because I had bought a big bag of pecans on our way home from Florida in the spring of 2009 at the Magnolia Plantation. They are great as a snack!
