Okay, this may not be a family heirloom recipe, considering I just heard of it a couple of weeks ago, but it is definitely a family favorite. It got raving reviews from all four family members, plus meets my requirement of easy to have on hand ingredients and really easy to prepare.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- salt, pepper, minced garlic, minced onion and Italian seasoning to taste
- Family size bag of frozen cheese ravioli
- jar of spaghetti sauce
- 1-2 cups shredded Mozzarella cheese
Directions
- Brown the ground beef with the seasonings, drain the fat. In a 9×13 inch baking dish, place a layer of spaghetti sauce, then place the frozen ravioli in a single layer on the top of the sauce, add a layer of the meat, then the cheese. Repeat layers ending with cheese on top. Bake at 400 degrees for 40 minutes covered, then another 10 minuted uncovered.
Notes
- This also freezes well prior to cooking. Add extra cooking time if frozen.
