Grandma Rumpke’s Hot Slaw

This is Grandma Rumpke’s famous hot slaw.
Ingredients
- 1 head Cabbage, chopped
- 1 large Onion, chopped
- 2 stalks Celery, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- ¾ pound Bacon, chopped into small pieces
- Sugar to taste (about ½ cup)
- +/- 1 cup Cider vinegar
Directions
- Combine cabbage, onion, celery, salt and pepper. In a large skillet, fry the bacon until crisp. Add cider vinegar and sugar, simmer for about 2 minutes. Pour over cabbage mixture and stir well.
